When my Mom had knee replacement surgery a few years back she went through a bunch of different types of rehabilitation methods, with one of them being the use of a recumbent exercise bike. Fortunately she was able to borrow a fairly nice machine from a friend, but the challenge she soon had to face, was that not every exercise bike is right for short people.
Our list of the top 11 exercise bikes for short people:

Interesting fact: The average height of a woman in the USA is 5’4”
At 5’1”, my Mom is definitely a bit below the average height for women. Somehow, I ended up with some decent height, so getting things from the top shelf was my job since I passed her up at 10 years old. When she needed to rehab her knee on an exercise bike, she ended up putting pillows behind her back so she could comfortably reach the pedals.
Nowadays you can get blocks that will make this situation a bit better (see some here on Amazon), but I think you are much better off getting a machine that will actually fit your frame and give you the workout you need.
If you are just starting to research Exercise Bikes, here is our buying guide that will give you a nice overview of what to look for in the different styles of bikes you can get for your home workout.
There are 3 main styles that you can choose from in an exercise bike: Spin/Indoor Bike, Recumbent Bike, and Upright Bike. A fourth style we will cover is a Folding Exercise Bike, which is generally similar to an upright bike, but designed to fold-up for storage in a closet or small space.
